Privacy policy

This policy explains what [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (“DiscountBay”) collects through discountbay.com and the DiscountBay apps, and why.

What we collect

• Shoppers: your mobile number (to log in), the coupons you generate and when they are redeemed.
• Store owners and staff: business name, address, contact name, phone and email, trade licence and ID documents you upload for verification, offer photos and logos, billing details and payment references (transaction IDs). We never store card numbers.
• Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, device type, time) kept for security and fault-finding.

We do not track your location. The area you choose for offers is stored only in your browser or app.

How we use it

• To log you in (SMS code), issue coupons and let stores redeem them once.
• To verify stores, bill store subscriptions and slider ads, and provide support.
• To keep the service secure and prevent coupon abuse.

Who sees it

Stores see a coupon’s code and whether it was redeemed — not your phone number. Store contact details and documents are visible only to the store’s owner and DiscountBay admins. We share data with our SMS provider (to send login codes) and hosting providers, only as needed to run the service. We do not sell personal data or show third-party advertising based on it.

Keeping and deleting data

You can delete your account at discountbay.com/account/delete or in the app (Profile → Delete my account). Coupons and invoices linked to stores may be kept in anonymised form for accounting as required by law. Backups are deleted after [14] days.

Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Coupons are signed so they cannot be forged, and each can be redeemed only once.
